Called derogatorily ''Pikies'', the Irish Travellers are Irish native Gypsies.
Their origin is still not clear, but they apparently not related with Roman Gypsies. They live in really closed communities that not easily aloud strangers in. Travellers are historically infamous for many reasons and they never been integrated in nowadays society. Their lifestyle reflects their ancestors, no technologies and a really close connection with the nature is one of their distinctive features.
Their life expectations is really low: 61.7 years, and 50 percent of them die before 39.
They recently became really popular because of tv series as Picky Blinders, and before that a movie called The Snatch intertwined their stories with the leading narrative.
